Stand-off, catboy version
Whoa, whoa, whoa, hey, let's calm down, okay? Shh, shhhh. What's going on here, hm?
[Wait a sec. That's. Not a cat. Huh?]
Eh? Wha? Ranma?
no subject
New voice, new threat? It turns on a dime to the newcomer, ignoring the other stray for now. Which only served to, unfortunate for Yoojin, piss off the other stray at not being taken seriously.
Thaaaaaaat's definitely Ranma hunch over on all fours there, same clothes and pigtail Yoojin's seen him around town in. But... different. Illusionary cat ears flicking aggressively (with hair conveniently extended out to hide his normal ears), the bristling tail standing up, the hissing, the wild almost frantic expression on the teen's face should be dead giveaways...]
{{Stay back!}}
[... that voice wasn't very Ranma-y either.
It continues to glare fiercely at the new man as if its murdering him in its mind, training its eyes watching his every move, on the ready to pounce.]

The feral look on Ranma reminds Yoojin of Noah, how the latter lost control after Yoojin applied his keyword. This... probably isn't that, the timing doesn't make any sense. But he has to wonder.
Either way, the situation is still one that needs deescalating.]
Uh... sure. Yeah, okay.
[Yoojin meekly takes one step back, then kneels, so he's not looming so much over either cat. He should do something about the injured tom, he knows, especially since it doesn't seem like it's about to back down. But Ranma is the one he knows. And that's his kid.
He lowers the cat toy and smiles gently.]
Hey, Ranma, remember me? It's your buddy Yoojin. We've been training with Akane, remember?
[If he doesn't recognize Yoojin, he might still respond to his crush's name, right?
Thinking of his sweet little Peace at home, Yoojin tries one more thing: slowly letting his eyes fall closed in a feline expression of trust.]
cw for animal cruelty imagery in narration
Ears go down and its body lowers, that shrill caterwauling growing dangerous. It was prepared to strike, to tear this man to shreds and get back to teaching that other cat a lesson. Out of animalistic instincts, out of self-preservation, out of agitation, doubly the last one when he persists calling it Ranma. Before it wouldn't give a rat's ass but now that its human christened it with a name, it wants to bark out Not Ranma! Yoiko...
Then he brought up another name that puts a pin in its plans. On a dime, as if a light switch was flipped in its behavior, the animosity teeming from it dissipates to befuddlement.]
{{Know Akane?}}
[It takes a step forward. Another. Another. It pussyfoots cautiously until its closer to Yoojin. Nowhere near right up on him, but a good safe distance in case this was a trap - and put that collar in the perfect view for Yoojin to read the words on its tag: "If lost, return to Akane Tendo of Hyacinth.". The slow blinking aids quailing it enough to lower its hackles, and its eyes flit between the stranger and that fun looking toy begging for it to swipe at it.]

These are all questions for later. Right now, he's making progress. Yoojin continues to smile softly as Ranma edges closer, and gives the toy a little waggle without lifting it fully. The feathers twitch enticingly on the cobblestone.]
Sure I know Akane. We're friends.
[Hmmm. "If lost..."]
Doooo you want some help getting back to her? I can show you the way.
cw for animal injury
Yoojin's handled felines to get a read on their body language. This one is more person shaped but a cat is a cat is a cat. It drops the tension, bobbing its head in sync with the toy. Yoiko believes its had enough sightseeing, it misses its human! Spare human here knows Akane, it'll listen until it feels like doing not that.]
{{Take Y--}}
[The tom saw an opening to put this imposter cat in its place! It screeches out a mighty yowl as it lunges forward claws out-
ROWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
- and Yoojin watches as the attacking stray is swept up into the contained razor storm "Ranma" twists himself into. The teenage boy became a series of red streaks wildly slashing without rhyme or reason to the pattern. Rough cobblestone is transformed from pristine if used condition to littered with grooves slashed into the street. With a fresh coat of red spattered here and there.
It was all over in a second. The cat-boy returns from the shredding ball of feline fury, and that tom... miraculously hasn't been utterly julienned, but it's covered in scratches and blood matting its coat. It wisely decided to throw in the towel and accept its loss, fleeing down a corner. Yoiko sends it off with one final hiss that we're gonna bleep because HOLY SHIT LANGUAGE, and returns to sitting at Yoojin's feet like business as usual.]
{{Take Yoiko! Now!}}
[Mewing incessantly.]

Ran--!! [And then stops himself, fumbling.] Uh, Y-Yoiko? Yoiko.
[That seems to be correct. He may be confused, but it behooves a survivor to be quick on the uptake. This is clearly Ranma, but Ranma doesn't seem to be fully in control of his faculties right now, and Yoojin certainly can't explain away the disembodied voice as part of some roleplay. So! His son is currently a cat. These things happen.
But that's no excuse for bad behavior. Yoojin takes in that pre-lecture breath again and waggles the cat toy like a stern finger.]
Yoiko! Bad kitty! You can't pick on people--umm, I mean cats who are weaker than you! And you made such a mess, look! Come on, we're going to apologize, or we can't go see Akane.
[He gets back up to his feet, hands on his hips, foot tapping.]
I know you know better than this.

{{Don't wanna...}} [Mrrrrrrrrrph......] {{Yoiko won't apologize for putting other cat in its place!}}
[Shouldn't have brought out the claws if it couldn't handle getting scratch. That's Catfight 101!
...... for a split second, it hangs its head at the reprimanding. It's used to human treating it with disdain or adoration or confusion, but this human almost sounds... disappointed? And it's gone just as fast with a hiss.]
{{Yoiko don't need you! Yoiko'll find Mistress on own!}}
[Throwing its head back in defiance, Yoojin'll have no time to react as the catboy scurries off, bouncing off the ground to a nearby balcony to the rooftop, disappearing off into the horizon...]

{{Where big house?}}
[It hasn't memorized the lay of the land yet. Plz halp kind stranger.]

I'm happy to take you there, but first I have to make sure that other cat is okay. You hurt it pretty badly, you know?
[In the meantime, he has to wonder if Ranma's been brainwashed or hypnotized or something. Can Meramancy do that? Or, what if it's a skill one of their fellow advisors came in with? Evernight immediately comes to mind. Hmm.
Better keep tabs on Ranma while he's like this, maybe bring him back to the castle so Yoojin can ask around and get to the bottom of this. Just call him Detective Dad.
Still, first things first. He knows that poor tomcat is lucky to be alive, but even in a nice place like Rosavelle, getting through the coldest days of winter with injuries like that isn't going to be a walk in the park. Maybe Yoiko can help him out, here.]
Akane's a nice girl; she took me to get treated when I was injured. So don't you think she'll be happy with you if you help me find it and patch it up? Pretty sure it won't be bothering you anymore.
