The Proper Instruction Catch-All (Open)
It had been an...unusual request to get. Apparently Corrin's skill with a sword had leaked out to various duelling clubs and societies, so they reached out to her for her expertise. It's...an unusual request to be sure, the kind that would probably have gotten them beheaded by any number of people back home if someone had been so brazen to ask.
She's all for reducing the risk of serious injuries in duels, but...being asked to cut the clothes off her opponents, while they try to do the same to her?
Well, why not? It'll be fun. For a few reasons. The money is good too, and with her eyes on a mansion in the luxurious Bellvine quarter, possibly to share with the elegant and refined young lady she is currently walking out with, Corrin needs all the capital she can muster, as quickly as she can. She's never been particularly ashamed of her body either; quite the opposite in fact. So this all seems like win-win to her.
The sparring rooms are wide, and nicely lit, and the two bathrobes hanging by the wall (so modesty can be protected while they wait to have their garments repaired via imprintwork) do look warm and inviting. When her opponent is led in, Corrin is testing a the blade in her hand, it's a bit lighter and thinner than what she's normally used to.
For these duels, and the ones in the closed prompts, she's wearing a billowy, white, button up shirt, loose black trousers, and even has a purple sash tied around her waist. It's kind of a swashbucklerly-look. Underneath those garments is the black one-piece that serves as her underarmour, her last line of defense.
When you come in, she gives you a lazy salute with a blade and winks. "Ah, so, you're my opponent, eh? Well, I guess we're gonna get to know each other pretty well by the end of today, huh? You wanna take a minute to get a feel for the blade, or shall we just dive right in?"

Hm...? Oh! Hey, Corrin! Wow, didn't expect to see someone I knew right off the bat!
[ Well, that's probably for the best, isn't it? ]

On the other hand, Kanade has a body other women would kill for, and the confidence of someone who knows it and doesn't mind showing off. That's dangerous in its own right.
"I'm glad to see you. I knew you were a lance user, but swords as well? Very talented." She points her sabre towards Kanade and grins.
"I was told the more thorough the testing, the better. So...are you prepared to take this the whole way?"

[ Besides, since this is gonna be harmless, she didn't mind helping out. Even if most of her sword experience is just from watching Tsubasa fight. She practiced once to see how it felt, and she ultimately preferred the spear.
Still, Gungnir is designed to allow for slashing attacks, so she can probably still apply her battle experience here. She twirls the sword in her hand... light and thin, different from the Japanese swords that Tsubasa preferred, but she can still make it work. ]
Oh yeah, don't worry about me. [ In fact, now that she's facing Corrin with a weapon she isn't particularly proficient in, it's probably only a matter of time before she's indecent. ] Just don't get too distracted, yeah?
[ She winks before adopting a stance, holding the sword in one hand in front of her. ]

Darin wanders into the dueling chamber in his usual clothes. His sleeveless smith's coat, skintight black undershirt, khaki pants, and heavy leather boots. He wasn't exactly expecting to have an opponent already nor was he expecting it to be Corrin.
"Huh, and here I thought we'd known each other pretty well already." Darin quips as if he hasn't really gathered what will likely happen here.
Then again, Corrin's only glimpsed Darin's strength. It's doubtful she actually wants to really duel him for real...right?
He takes one of the swords in hand, testing its balance, judging its weight.
"You don't really want to fight me, do you Princess~?" His voice has a teasing lilt to hide the fact he's...actually not sure if they should spar or not.
no subject
"Well, we've certainly bared ourselves to each other already, in a manner of speaking." She points out, remembering the conversation they had in the stables, when Corrin let herself be completely honest with someone for the first time here. It went...well.
"Actually, I am curious to see your skill in battle. You must have incredible control." She saw him toss a rock into the stratosphere, in a moment of anger, the discipline he must normally exert over his strength on a daily basis must be legendary. "I want to see it for myself. However, if you wish to concede, I'll happily report that to our hosts and collect my payment." She gives him a cocky grin and a curtsey.
Keeping it light helps, given the subject and what a duel would actually entail.

Darin holds a hand up and pats the air. Darin may be a lot of things, but he's never one to back down from a challenge. Really, it's that mindset that tends to get him into the most trouble. That ever-present need to prove himself.
"I'm just saying that you've seen me strength and nothing else. I was trained by the Captain of the Arclight Royal Guard. All I'm saying is that you might be biting off more than you can chew."
He hasn't even assumed any sort of stance. He's wide open for a strike. He's just lazily swinging around that sword.

The Holy Jumonji Sword would be displeased and jealous, but she can deal for now.
As such she presents herself in front of Corrin, bowing her head. Wearing her typical gi with a chest wrapping underneath, she loosens up a bit by doing a few practice swings of the blade.
“Hm! This one feels different, but nevertheless… I am ready. Do not feel as if you need to hold back, I want to get the best experience that I can.” After her proclamation, Kyoshika takes a stance. As usual, she might not be thinking in a direct line all things considered. Even so, she can’t help but feel excited about it.
Will Kyoshika wait patiently for 25 turns before beginning her assault?
"Are you certain?" Corrin adopts a stance, but doesn't yet attack. "As introductions go this is certainly a novel one. Are you certain you wish to take this all the way?" She might actually be in for a tough fight with this one. She's fought enough samurai to know they're no joke. Her clothes are in serious danger.

However, that doesn't mean other horndogs aren't planning to. Meaning it's his duty to test the blades himself to see whether it works as advertised. It's one hundred percent logical. Shut up.
Corrin'll hear a familiar voice whistle behind her from an entrance marveling at the interior. Stepping inside was a certain pigtailed man flaunting a blade of his own. Whom wisely opted to forgo wearing his beloved Tang suit and black pants. Opting instead for apparel in his closet that he don't losing/repairing. The male-spasmodically-female fighter from Nerima turns her attention to the unexpected but welcome surprise opponent.]
'Sup Corrin! You're who I'm fightin' the clothes off of? [Returning his own lazy salute back at her, rather pleased to see her too. They've sparred before, he knows she's exceptional with a blade. It would've blown hard if he got stuck with a foe posing more of a threat to themselves than him.
Diving in is his go-to, but before all that, he's gotta ask:]
Need me t' change first? [He wasn't talking about his clothes. The water bottle he yoinks out of hammerspace should send the message clearly.] S'only take a sec. Your call. You're not gonna see a trace of my skin whichever way.
[Two can talk big and wink tauntingly too!]

It's a nice gesture, offering to change to a form Corrin might be more comfortable, but she waves it away. "Up to you, but to be honest a lot of my opponents so far have been women." And that's been fun in its own right. "I wouldn't mind breaking it up a little, if it's all the same to you." Girl Ranma is extremely cute of course, but there is still something to be said for a well-chiselled male form, and that's Male Ranma in shades.
"Either way, I'm going to make you eat that confidence."

[Honestly he's glad he doesn't have to waste precious time with namby-pamby grievances. Nobody can say he didn't try to be considerate. Or prevent spurned jealous suitors from crashing through the walls to clobber him and slash or Corrin. If she's chill and won't go screaming about 'getting to know each other better' intimately, he's going to be chill too.
Ranma's spent long enough being half girl and getting flashed that naked women don't faze or affect him too much. Obviously, he's still a guy who finds women hot and acknowledge their physical beauty. Especially when they're quite the lookers like Corrin, nicely built, curvy in the right spots, pretty face. He'd be more shocked if nobody hadn't swept her off her bare feet. Long as keeps her tits away off him they're kosher.
Ranma enters into a fencer stance, training his eyes on his foe. Taking the boldness in stride:]
Stronger dragons've tried, and failed miserably. I'd love to watch you try t' be the first. Hell, I'll treat ya' to some ice cream when we're done. If ya' win.~
[Pauses. His eyes trace the princess up and down, sizing her up. The corner of his grin stretch further.]
Oh, and bigger too.
[What does he mean by that? Ranma doesn't elaborate further, opting to let her stew in the implications for herself.
Corrin went first their last match, it's only fair he makes the first move. Ranma bends his knees ever so slightly, and as if an unheard starter pistol fired in his ear, bolts forth to his target. These blades were design with bodily safety in mind, but to err on the side of caution, Ranma doesn't go for a straight thrust. The tip of his blade skirts the floor before he swings it upwards to slash the midsection of Corrin's clothing.]
The Proper Instruction (Nabiki)
...not that she minds, really.
They enter the sparring room and the door is shut and locked from inside. All the time in the world, and all the privacy in the world...Corrin's heart is beating so fast she's afraid Nabiki can hear it pounding. She tries to play it as cool as she can, but there's no disguising the blush of red on her cheeks.
"I didn't know in addition to being the foremost entrepreneur of Nerima, you also happened to know your way around a blade. We should be sparring together more often."
Re: The Proper Instruction (Nabiki)
For all her cracks about not being a real martial artist, her stance is decent and her saber at a good defensive angle. She took some lessons.
Nabiki never forgot them.
She knew she was going to lose - and wouldn’t be sad to learn things about Corrin and herself from the loss - but she doesn’t plan to roll over and let her win without a fight. Square up or shut up time.
no subject
She also takes a moment to examine Nabiki's outfit, plan her attack...how best to free her from the confines of her clothing.
Then she advnces suddenly, with an opening attack of a few quick jabs aimed to test her guard, and perhaps score a few opening tears.
no subject
Nabiki sees her, parries, ripostes - sliding her saber down the outside of hers in an attempt to jump up and catch a sleeve.

The Proper Instruction (Gold Ship)
Gold Ship isn't her responsibility, just because she was her friend's object of affections. Corrin doesn't have to do this. But she wants to. Gold Ship is a friend—a dear friend in fact, even if not in the way the horse girl wants—possibly her second favourite person here after a certain Tendo sister. And maybe she knows a little about what Gold Ship is going through. But she's also certain that no amount of begging or pleading will convince Gold Ship to ever talk.
So Corrin won't try to talk to her, not conventionally. She's harder to find at the Geranium barracks these days, but still out and about on the castle grounds. When Corrin finds her, she simply marches up, and with a serious look on her face, hands Gold Ship an envelope.
"We need to talk. Meet me here." And then walking away before Gold Ship has a chance to deflect or change the subject or pretend everything is Fine when Corrin knows it's not. Inside the envelope, it's a time and address for a duel. They're gonna get this out, get this all out, one way or another.
She's not going to lose another friend.
no subject
So here Gold Ship is, she debated ignoring Corrin's invitation, play it off as forgetfulness, but she can't do that. She's already a lot of reprehensible things and she refuses to add Coward to that list. She dressed nicely at least, the knightly suit the castle servants put her in on her first day here, which was unnecessary, apparently. Golshi arrives early to the location, some insecurity wanting to deny her friend the advantage of preparation, and is promptly given the explanation, a change of clothes, and a weapon.
This is probably Not Great. The swords don't cut flesh, allegedly, but "We need to talk" combined with sword play? Corrin's plan is to beat some sense into her apparently? Or this is as heavy handed a way she can think of to tell Gold Ship what she thinks of her. Either way she regrets showing up early, now she's just got to sit and stew with her thoughts. She could pace, like Suzuka would, or even go through stretches and light warmups to prepare, but for some reason she decides to do something she hasn't in awhile.
She meditates. Just sits in the sparring room cross legged, sword across her lap, her hair unbound and flowing down in a way that blocks the view of her face from the side. Goddesses, she should invest in hair pins if she's going to keep letting it down around here, her bangs are cute but kind of annoying. Which is a great thing to think about during her meditation attempts, anything that keeps the gnawing dread in her stomach from overriding her thoughts.
Dread that says 'This is gonna suck'. But she made her hay filled bed, time to lay in it. Whenever Corrin shows up that is.
no subject
The door swings open, and she steps inside, locking it behind her. They can open it up again for Gold Ship when she arrives—oh, nevermind. It appears the other woman was early.
"...Hello, Gold Ship." She says. "Thank you for coming. I thought...this might be an easier way for us to express ourselves. Are you ready to begin?"
No sense wasting time trying to talk; she knows now deflection is Gold Ship's favoured tactic and she will not break that pattern.
That's not how Corrin can help her anyway.

January 1st-Catch A Falling Star (Open)
"Are you trying for the falling stars too?" She holds up a small bowl she's carrying to try and trap her fragment. "Wanna walk down together?"
Jamnuary 5th (Night)-Crab Cleanup (OPEN)
At present, she's crouched on a dock next to a lamp. There's a crab not far away with what looks to be a gold, jewelled bracelet wrapped around one claw while the other claw clutches a knife (of the finest Bellvine cutlery). It paces side to side as she waves a few strands of seaweed at it in one hand while she carefully hides a net behind her back.
"Come here, little guy...you must be hungry. Look! See? All this is for you. Just come a liiiiiittle closer..."
QUEST: Sweep-Sweep (Open)
"Hmmm, DeCroille's Advanced Primer of Classical Meramancy Vol. 1, 2, 3...7, 8, 9, and 10. It looks like we're missing a few volumes. They must have gotten sorted elsewhere. Anyone have eyes on Volumes 4, 5, and 6 of DeCroille?" Man this guy had a lot to say on classical Meramancy.
Re: QUEST: Sweep-Sweep (Open)
"I believe..."
She turns her gaze upwards again, sweeping the higher reaches of the shelf.
"Ah, volume five is... Here."
Casually, she reaches up to the highest reaches of the shelves and dislodged a dusty tome, evicting an elderly and now very confused spider in the process.
"I shall continue the search at once, your highness."
no subject
"Hey, it's just the two of us. You don't have to call me your highness, nobody is gonna be snooping on us back here. Just "Corrin" is fine."
Of course, her title isn't actually fake, but whenever she tells someone that, there's a moment of a wall coming up and thinking they have to behave more formally towards her, and Corrin's discovered she enjoys the informality of not being known as the Second Princess here.
