Who: Kris and you! When: Various times throughout April Where: Around and About What: Various Scenarios. Learning magic, playing piano, and so forth. Warnings: None so far!
[ over the last few weeks, kris has been busying themselves with study. After all, what’s the point of going to a world where magic is commonplace, if you don’t try to have that magic for yourself? And if there’s a choice in which magic to have, it’s got to be the one that projects an illusion onto the world, right? They’re a liar and a cheat after all. So Meramancy it is.
And Gold Ship offering to train them redoubles their interest - though they do try to progress as much as they can on their own.
So you might come across them in the Garden one day, with meramantic red horns poking out from under their hair, as they focus very hard… and manage to conjure some kind of… sweaty ice cube. ]
Man... They don't even have Flamin' Hot Cool Ranch flavor here...
the summoning spell has reached its intended target
Nope. I don't wanna eat it again. It's just weird, knowing it's not there. No Ice-E's P"E"zza, no gross guy that pretends he was best friends with my brother. No diner. Nothing.
[Genuine shock! That was kinda cool, so he grinned wide and rolled his neck to get a few cricks and pops out before conjuring a doppelganger from his shadow. Said doppelganger did a garish bow.]
That's cool, pal! So, that the same kinda thing as this or is it some other magic?
[ if you tend to be on the castle grounds during the day, you might occasionally hear piano music coming from the Stag’s Rest Lounge.
To think, there was a time they thought they wouldn’t play again. Even now, it reminds them of a time that will never come back. But the piano is there, and during the day there’s nobody there to interrupt them practicing. It feels good to have the keys under their fingers again.
It’s strange how often their songs tend to trail off rather than finish, isn’t it? ]
She's not commenting. She's not even all the way in the room, preferring to sort of hover (or perhaps loom, unintentionally; she is a very tall woman with extremely powerful eyebrows) in the doorway. But she's definitely listening.
[ their playing pauses for a moment as they see their audience in their peripheral vision, but they soon resume. it's not the first time somebody has come in while they were playing, though most of the time it's staff. they've gotten used to kris by now. ]

Wait, they've got Doritos here? Since when?
no subject
Nah, it's a pizza flavor. And a soda flavor. And an ice cream flavor.

Sounds lousy but... I guess I'd try it. None of that either? [Given the fact that Kris was hanging out in the gardens? Probably not.]

[Blink blink]
And there's hardly any gross people, now that I think of it. That's probably for the best though.

[ they shrug. they sure don't miss pizzapants. ]
Yeah. It's just a reminder that everything's different.

I mean... kinda? I still eat it, though.
[Slumping a little, he sort of hung off of a wall planter that was 100% not designed for his weight.]
I can't even get that much ice cream either. Even tried making my own and froze up the beach... Is that the cost of everybody bein' nice n' polite?

[ oh, magic stuff huh. yeah he does look, very anime, doesn't he. ]
Your cursed demon eye got the better of you, huh?
no subject
[Hold on, he was going over to a little fountain to try and look at his eyes in its reflection.]
Thought I had these things turned off...
no subject
Yeah, it's probably not that, it's probably the demon sealed in your arm.

One, then the other, he turned into scaley, blood-red arms with claws and evil miasma. Then, poof, they were normal again. He frowned at Kris.]
C'mon, no messin' around. I only just got the hang of controllin' one arm at a time--made me think I'd forgotten when I went to hit the can.

the weird little mascot disappears, but their horns become more curved and wicked. ]
Dude. So do you like drive a motorcycle and listen to metal all the time.
no subject
Not for decoration, huh? [More importantly, Kris didn't smell like a devil, so he'd assumed it was just a 'look'.]
Course, I gotta ask... Are you a fan? 'Cause you sound like you know a lot about me.
no subject
Yeah, and you wear sunglasses at night, right?
Nah. I'm the all-knowing dogtective, woof.
[ the horns turn into floppy puppy ears. ]

Interesting time signature.
[ The song is harder than it might otherwise sound as a result. Imperfectly, but earnestly played.
A Rosavellian adviser, for sure. ]
