A - Backseat Dueling

[ Duels abound in the streets of Bellvine! Currently, the very literal streets. Two young upper class ladies have gotten into a spat over whose boyfriend is prettier. Steel was drawn, and a crowd has gathered to watch. At his height, Bulat has a good view. His arms are crossed, and he's following the bout with a practiced eye. ]

The girl with the fancy braids - her form is much better, but her reaction time is terrible. I wouldn't be surprised if this is her first dust-up without a tutor watching. The one with the ribbons... I actually am a little surprised she hasn't lost yet.

[ Ribbons gets a slice through her fluffy petticoats, shrieks, and flails her epee around so Braids has to backstep in alarm. ]

B - For the Birds

[ So Bulat is a highly visible fellow. Eye catching. Helpful. A good attitude. His own opinion of how handsome he is isn't unjustified. And those muscles...! At least two of the people on the games committee are nursing crushes on him, and that wistful mooning has leaked into the messages that they're sending around the island.

The result of this is that when Bulat strides up to the cote, ready to see if he's the kind of guy who can tenderly handle fragile animals, he's immediately swarmed by cooing birds. Those with messages want him to read theirs first, and he can't put his hand anywhere without a dove shoving itself under it. Those without are simply... snuggling. One of them has plunged into his hair and a bright-eyed beaky little face is sticking out the front of his pompadour.

He looks amused rather than concerned, but he's having some trouble unhooking a message from one tiny bird leg with two more doves trying to shove their way between him and the first one. ]
