Cupcakes & Karaoke
Who: Taiki Shuttle, Haruhi Suzumiya
When: The Saturday after they made plans to have a date
Where: A private room in a Menthward tavern Taiki rented out for a few hours
What: Taiki and Haruhi decided to try going on a date, and while straight-up karaoke bars don't exist in Rosavelle, with some meramancy, a private room, and lots of sweets (thanks for the hookup Archer) you can make a pretty good approximation!Rip Taiki's wallet though
Anything Else: These two and sugar probably isn't a good idea.
Pick you up at eight had been what they'd agreed upon, and Taiki doesn't want to disappoint her date/friend/trainer/whatever her and Haruhi's relationship turns out to be, by being late, so she departs the Tulip barracks in good time to arrive at the Forget-Me-Nots shortly before 8. It's been a busy day, making arrangements in town for this (thank goodness for the stipend Their Majestically gives the advisors, but Taiki's blown through a lot of her initial funds), but however tonight turns out, she wants the two of them to have fun, and that's worth dropping some dollar bills to make it happen.
It's not until she approaches the Forget-Me-Not Barracks that Taiki suddenly worries she might have made an error; she can't waltz into the barracks that aren't hers, can she? Is that allowed? If she says she's looking for Harukitty—ahem, Haruhi —maybe that would be okay, but she might be pushing her luck. And it's not like they can text each other....
Taiki doesn't wanna be rude and go accidentally trespassing, especially if that would reflect badly on Haruhi. So there's only one sensible option. She reaches the barracks, looks up, and cups a hand over her mouth.
"HEY HARUUUUUUUUUUUU~HIIIIIIIIII! IT'S ME, TAIKI! I'M OUTSIDE! YA'LL READY TA GO?"
This is a much better plan.

So, it was almost 8! Taiki was going to pick her up (for whatever that meant), so she figured staying put was a good idea for the most part. Still, nothing that says that she couldn't wait outside as the time got closer and closer.
As luck would have it, just as she's opening the door, she hears a loud exclamation. It scares the hell out of her, really!
"Uh--!"
Oh. Well. Looks like... she was right on time?
"Y-Yeah! Yeah, I'm ready! Heya!"
Hope no one was trying to sleep yet!
