The Sojourns of Lady Cheria 🎀 January Catch-All #2
Who: Cheria and INSERT YOUR CHARACTER HERE!
When: All throughout January.
Where: PLACES!! There are specific prompts for the library, kitchens, and the daycare, but ofc there's also an open option.
What: Lady Cheria investigates the varied locales of the kingdom, taking in the exotic new sights. Being who she is, she also lends her aid when and where she can...
Anything Else: No TWs/CWs at the moment (although one prompt might get a touch innuendo-y depending...?). January Catch-All #1 is here for the forget-me-nots who missed it.
Amourian Library ❧ Castle
[Cheria is nowhere near as much of a reader as Hubert (who is, really?), but with being confined to bed so much as a child she's had time to appreciate a decent share of books, mostly fairy tales with happy endings, gentle fables, or light adventure stories, maybe a nature tome or two. True to form, she wishes she could show this magnificent library to Hubert.
One thing she definitely would never want to show him, however, is this one book she finds called The Lord Who Ravished Me. The cover is a richly painted illustration of a handsome, well-dressed man embracing a swooning maiden, both of them showing off their chests to some scandalous degree or another. Cheria flips open to a random page, reads...and then furiously blushes and puts it back to continue browsing the other shelves.
...and then she comes back to the book to read another page. And blush again. And put it back again. Rinse, repeat.
What in the world is this silly girl doing?]
The Kitchens ❧ Castle
[As much as Cheria is enjoying getting to live out her fantasy of being a fancy, fashionable noble lady living in a storybook castle of flowers and magic, she also hates feeling like she's just sitting on her hands, and Callie's request for assistance in understanding love — while certainly within Cheria's wheelhousethough maybe not as much as she thinks — is a little light on tangible action steps. Her initial visit to the kitchens ends with being handed a freshly-baked fruit tart (probably the best she's ever had) and reassured that she's free to relax as much as she likes, but one day she overhears from a maid that they're down a few people, and here comes Cheria marching over to offer her culinary assistance.
The royal kitchens are nothing like she's ever experienced as an amateur chef and baker, hot and loud and crowded and just crammed full with every task and ingredient in the cookbook. She's tasked with some basic ingredient prep, which she's familiar enough with — except that here in Rosavelle the task also requires some low-level infusery charms. Fortunately, one of the old hands is kind enough to instruct her in the necessary additional steps, and with Cheria's inclination for the craft of cooking she isn't too daunted by learning them.
That being said, her control of Bloomcraft's fundamental power is still a little shaky, so her miscast charms may result in small explosions of flour, fruit preserves, or some other ingredient. If you're lucky, you can just kind of watch the fireworks from a distance. If you're a little less so...]
Oh — oh no! I'm so sorry! I was just...sorry!
[She'll look around for something to clean you up with, if necessary. (She's aware there are cleaning charms, but she thinks it's probably better to do things the old-fashioned way in this case.)]
Little Buds Atelier ❧ Primavain
[Continuing her ~quest~ to feel like she's being useful, Cheria decides to try volunteering at the Atelier's daycare. Dressed for the work in a more practical getup than other options in her Rosavellian wardrobe, some of the activities she might be helping out with here include:
❀ storytime
❀ sing-alongs (she's comfortable singing and playing simple piano)
❀ games that don't require too much physical activity (something like hide-and-seek or board games)
❀ cleanupyou can take the maid out of the manor but actually she's not a maid, she's just the butler's granddaughter
And possibly other things I'm not aware of because uhhhh not much of a kids person myself, SUGGEST THINGS TO ME IDK — ]

She's typically a very low-key, restrained, and polite person, so the most likely scenario is her happening across your character doing something and asking about it or accidentally getting caught up in shenanigans one way or another, rather than her causing problems for everyone elsethat would be Pascal's job and Pascal isn't here. [She might not have been expecting Darin in the kitchens. She might also not have been expecting him to be reaching for a jar of fruit preserves when some errant bloomcraft popped the lid off of said jar in an explosion of red jam which is currently plastered all over his face.]

So, this is why I'm constantly chasing away the chefs who insist on using magic to do everything.

understanding why cheria here is only reading a page a time and wandering away. she sees this happen a couple of times and finally, she waits for her to wander away again... to strike!
which means, she takes her chance to go and pluck the book out herself. getting a good look back at the cover... and immediately slamming that back into the shelf, not particularly mindful of any loud noises made from the action or by her sputtering. ]
