Mid-January, Menthward, The Promenade
As for the booth itself? It's, well. Cheap wood, easy to take apart and put together. There's a sign at the top: "FORTUNES & DETECTIVE WORK - 2 CROWNS". Which is useful.
Yayoi's herself sitting behind the booth. She looks... well, remarkably nervous! This is probably why she doesn't seem to be having much traffic. She's looking around in anxiety, not sure how to... well, get business.]
Should I have made it only one crown...?
no subject
[ He clinks a couple crowns down. Money does not exist to be hoarded; it's healthy for it to pass from person to person. ]
Here, show me what you've got.
no subject
[JUST ADMITTING THAT, BUT. Okay, sure!!]
What kind of fortune are you looking for? General, love, work, something else?
no subject
[ Yayoi continues to be Yayoi. ]
Love, of course!

Yeah. Usually about monster stuff, but I'll handle whatever you need if I think I can do it.

What kind of fortune telling do you do?
no subject
[ITS THE CUTE GIRL... Yayoi straightens up. She seems... really enthusiastic! This should help, right?]
It depends on what you want. For stuff like romance that wants a clear answer, I use a kokkuri board, and to find lost objects or find out someone's lucky directions, I use... People here called it dowsing? And for more general ideas, my mirror can do most of it.

humming a bit as she overhears yayoi's murmuring, she shrugs her shoulders. ]
It should be one crown each. If I have to buy the fortune, I'd have to also have a mystery to solve to make it worth it. At that point, I'd wanna solve the mystery by myself though.
[ but that's just her. she wants to be a detective too! ]

[ Speaking of which guess who's saddled on up and is just, offering Yayoi a bag full of recently homemade daifuku. Gold Ship picked up her bestie was up to something and figured she deserved a snack! ]
Don't sell yourself short, yeah? You're a heck of a detective, your work's worth the cost.
[ A pause, her ears flick as she realizes something. ]
Didn't know ya did fortunes too though. S'that got somethin' ta do with how ya tracked Darin?
no subject
[I'M NOT A BEAN..... but she takes the daifuku. she ain't gonna complain about food!]
It doesn't matter if the work's worth it if there's no work to be done, you know? There's no monsters, and I'm not even sure there's stray cats to track down.
[The fortune, huh. She takes a moment.]
Not really? I mean, I used my mirror for both, but... Tracking power signatures like that is real. Fortune telling isn't.
[fortune telling is fake. signed, person offering fortune telling.]

"Is that your ride?" she asks. "I'm no biker myself but it's beautiful. Hikaru would appreciate it more I think, but he's a mechanic."
And she sighs and places two crowns on the table.
"I think I'd like help sorting out how to help a - let's not mince words. Someone I like. Not naming names."

[SHE'S HAPPY TO SEE HIM, straightening up slightly!]
Not really... More like just trying it out. I figure there's not much use for a detective here.

Late January, Dawnfield Grounds
She hasn't had a real fight since that giant brawl. And even that wasn't a real fight. She's worried she's going to lose her edge if something happens... so she has to train. But she can't transform! People can't see a superhero training. So instead, she's got a training dummy out, and she draws her sword.
Her sword, of course, is a strange-looking katana with a blade shaped like a lightning bolt. And as she takes a deep breath, she swings the sword...
Lightning arcs behind the swing, an electric charge consuming the dummy. It's cut in half in one strike, an immaculately clean cut of a blade of unimaginable sharpness. And then, as the top half hits the ground...
The whole dummy explodes.
Yayoi, at least, seems just as surprised as everyone else, frantically looking around in alarm. Oh, god, everyone's looking at the explosion. Oh, god, there was an explosion. Oh, god, Nadeshiko's going to kill her.]
I- I- I didn't even hit it that hard!!
no subject
BOOOOOOOM!!!
... incendiary devices, apparently. While the other scatter and scram from the tokusatsu death explosion like cockroaches after the lights are turned on, Ranma only calmly broke way from his dummy as if going to investigate a bump he heard. He continues to be blasé and cool while striding over to the aftermath of Yayoi's nonhard-hitting attack.]
Whaddaya call that then, a lovetap?
no subject
[She's SO alarmed. Probably more surprised than anyone else!]
It's not supposed to do that!

Early January, the library | Locked to Gold Ship and Callie
Oh, wait, yes she does. Gold Ship. Gold Ship is how she ended up in this situation.
It was Gold Ship's idea, and, well, it made sense. Yayoi should go distract the Princess. She's distracting, and she does want to get to know the Princess better, anyway. Not to mention, well. Gold Ship's been trying to teach her things. Confidence. So... go in there. Turn heads. Turn Callie's head, specifically.
That's how Yayoi ends up in the library in a particularly revealing Santa dress, trying not to turn so red she matches her hair. Just relax. Stay calm. The point is that Callie is looking at her. If Callie is looking at her, Callie is not looking at the evil and intimidating horse girl sneaking up behind them.
... Why are they kidnapping them again? Golshi had made a really compelling case for it, but now that they're actually going through, she can't remember.
Still, it's too late to back out now. It is, right? Is it not? Could she turn around and run? Maybe that's-
Except then she accidentally bumps a chair, making a pretty loud noise.
Crap. Nothing for it now. She just sort of. Waves awkwardly.]
U- Uh, hi, Princess. You've been in here a lot... What are you reading?
[NAILED IT. FLAWLESS. SUPER NORMAL SOCIAL INTERACTION.]

Ah, good morning, Yayoi! Goodness, what a...
[ ... ]
... seasonally inappropriate outfit!
[ Ouch. ]
At the moment... I suppose you'd call it some self-study...? There is a forebearer of mine I am hoping to find some more information on.

OPERATION GET CALLIE IN THE SACK (platonic, literally a sack): START
Yayoi, dependable, lovable, stacked as hell Yayoi, she's doing her job admirably right out of the gate. Grab the Princess's attention, be the single most noticeable thing in the entire library. That's right, Calcal, take the bait! Pay no attention to the sunglasses and mask wearing umamusume who's slipped from one of the library stacks and is now belly crawling towards you from behind! They're not there! And they certainly don't have The Sack clutched in one hand and a length of rope in the other.
Golshi pauses and her ears twitch as she registers Callie's response. O u c h. Probably shouldn't be surprised since they've told her before they aren't sure where they stand on romance yet, but still...! Golshi was kinda banking on Yayoi's more than generous assets to at least provide some gobsmacking!
Oh well. Yayoi's still doing great. From her position flat against the ground behind Callie Golshi raises a hand and flashes Yayoi an encouraging thumbs up before continuing her approach ]
