after all, kurara had said she'd be a good partner. perhaps she had to figure out how to rebound after her failures.
for the time being, she can be found at the Amourian Library, admiring the atmosphere and cozy feeling inside. still, she's taking her time browsing through the collection of books, through each row and each section, looking intently.
finally, if she catches someone with her, she'll go ahead and ask. ]
Excuse me. Can you tell me where the manga section would be?
[ look this is how she learned about her own world, it should be the same here, right? ]

Crunching on a few, he responded with a half-full mouth--]
Manga? Wha's thafth?

Do not worry, I won't tell any one about your snacking. [ a beat. ] Manga-- comics. 'Tis the very highest of art one could strive for, one that can help someone suss out the tastes of the time period.
But... I can't really find them. Every young person should have a collection, should they not?
no subject
No way. That's gotta be movies for sure. [He even offered her some chips--the non-greasy kind that were almost certainly made in a nice little shop.]
Gimme a good action flick and I'm sold... 'cause that's what I call high art. [Snapping into a grin like an idiot, he completely blanked over all the plays and opera he'd seen as a kid. That stuff? Couldn't hold a candle.]

I see, you’re a film buff. I hear Lady Kurara is one too, although she wouldn’t watch them with me. Which is fine, some of them are too complex for me.
[ apparently they watched some b-movie before? was that why sir takumi turned her down?? ]
What of films based on comic books? Those are good too, sometimes.

[ SHOT DOWN IMMEDIATELY by a woman sitting at a table surrounded by the oldest, thickest, most complicated-looking books in the place. There's more words on a single page of her chosen texts than probably exist in an entire volume of manga. ]
no subject
[ shot down immediately?! meanwhile, there are so many actual books there?! ]
P-Perhaps they’re hiding? There’s a secret room hidden somewhere, yes, that must be it!
no subject
[ After all.... ]
I've removed every book from these shelves and found no such device.

March can already tell this girl is going to take it even harder than she did. She's mostly here to finally get started on her Infusery, but...
She places a hand on Kyoshika's shoulder, face grave.]
Girl. I am so, so sorry.

You… you are joking, yes?! Ha ha, truly, putting one over on the foolish new girl, yes?!
Please, say you are simply trying to prank me!
open, cold as hell in marelys
recently, thanks to the change of being drawn away from the TRC and living at the academy, she's been introduced to the concept of "rain". cold wet droplets coming from the darkened sky, pouring overhead and increasing the chances of them falling ill. seemed pretty bad, but luckily it seemed to be rare at the academy. that wouldn't be an issue in the slightest.
but weirdly enough... the rain here seemed a little more solid, and left the ground slippery and the weather downright freezing. kyoshika's wearing her normal outfit; her gi and a haori, and this should be enough but while she's walking about, she's got the Holy Jumonji Sword safely nestled in her arms.
until finally, she's stopped in her tracks and huddling towards the thistle and thorn. not going in, but more idling outside as she tries to warm herself up. ]
Haa, haa....
[ she's rubbing her arms, sword carefully nestled into her chest, cheeks red. ]
Is-- is it always this cold...?
[ she sniffles, and then shakes her head. ]
N-No, this is no-no-nothing! No frost shall sssstop me...!
Re: open, cold as hell in marelys
You need a little help there?
[She's dressed in leathers and tight pants, with the gloves with metal protectors on. She's got a herb packet at her hip-- or, it would smell of herbs if you got close enough. The cold air and snow don't carry it well. There's some water and a shaker inside, too.]
Come on. Numbness isn't good for you.
no subject
You- ah, you can tell that I’m that cold? I-I thought I was hiding it fairly we— [ followed by a sneeze. and a sniffle. ]
R-Right, thank you m-my lady. Please, help.

[She gets her shoulder under Kyoshika's arm and lifts with her legs. If she wanted, Kyoshika could probably remain curled up and stay lifted off the ground with Akane's pure strength. Girl moves people around like some people move cats.]
[She's also warm.]
So. Pick your pleasure. We've got hot food, cafes, heading back up to the castle...
no subject
she ponders the question and... ]
Ahh, I haven't really eaten much today. I was too busy dealing with all of this cold and wet mush.
[ she means, snow. all she knows is that she's presently not a fan! ]
no subject
[She's not brooking any arguments.]
[The inside of the Thistle and Thorn is a blast of warmth compared to the outside; even the little 'airlock' they keep so the mud and the wet and the cold don't get in is noticeably hotter.]
[Akane will, if not stopped, simply carry Kyoshika inside, without any particular regard to what she's touching or not.]
[The smell of food hits as soon as they're past the airlock.]
Right. I'd take you to Hyacinth and make a meal, but we're going to settle for here, because here is where we are.
[Let's see, any place to sit two...?]
no subject
the smell hits her full force, and she scans a bit to find a place to sit. ]
Oh… ah, are you a cook? [ a beat. ] Is it okay? I don’t suppose the meals here are free.
no subject
[The dock repair job more than covered her expenses for the month.]
And I'm a chef like some people are martial artists. I'll probably never make it past line cook.
