When traveling to Verso and Monoco's cottage in Maerlys, the salty tang of the sea grows stronger, blending with the soft crunch of shells beneath your feet. The path winds away from the shared docks into the quiet, salt-kissed edges of the southern coast. Under the pale, budding glow of the Calyx, the cottage faces the Azurite Sea. It's a simple, sun-bleached home with weathered timber and stone that blend naturally with the beach's landscape. A bright blue door adds a surprising pop of color, welcoming visitors along the narrow path that leads down to the shore.

Inside, the space is sparsely furnished with bedrolls and essential supplies, offering solid shelter without excess. A large window lets in soft natural light, while subtle enchantments cast warm, shifting mood lighting that fills the rooms with a calm, inviting glow — making the cottage feel like a peaceful refuge by the sea.

A mostly-empty bedroom is tucked away at the back of the house, simple and unadorned. Its purpose feels unsettled, leaving an unspoken question in the air. Is it a place for rest, for waiting, or something yet to come?

Though the cottage's interior is sparse, guests can still find comfort outside in a serviceable sitting area. Here, they can take in the view, breathe the fresh sea air, and enjoy good company. At night, a fire often burns softly under the stars, accompanied by the warm crackle of Verso's gramophone playing old records. It's a gentle reminder to slow down and carve out moments worth cherishing.
