[it was pretty easy for her to guess that this particular gathering in primavain was all about the new year. it was just one celebration after the next, not that she was complaining but it was wildly different than what she was used where they barely had any occasion to celebrate.

it shouldn't be that surprising that octavia finds herself out here trying out some of the foods at first or later on, looking a bit more captivated as the meteor showers brighten the skies. it always feels a bit surreal sometimes looking upwards especially when she had spent most of her life up there on the ark as it orbited earth itself and though her experiences left a bitter taste in her mouth, she can appreciate how pretty it look.

she had heard the rumours by now that have been going around about catching the starlight for good luck and honestly, despite not knowing if she believed it herself, it sounded like a lot of fun and honestly she was so ready to try she if she could manage catching it because really, how cool would be to say she managed to catch one? she has a jar in her hand that is holding up in hopes of catching something but she knows she can't do this on her own if she is going by the rumours so you happen to pass by or approach her, she will call out in your direction] Want to give this a try with me?

JAN 5th 🦀 MARELYS WHARF

[octavia is up pretty early like most days and eventually finds herself near marelys wharf where all the commotion about the thieving frost crabs seems to all anyone seems to be talking about, but she doesn't seem to be to bothered by it from being used to not having much for the crabs to steal from her anyway.

a. it is out of curiousity that she is out here today, looking completely unphased when a frost crab happens to be somewhere near her vicinity and it is without any hesitation that she approaches, crouching down to observe it] Whoa— it's kind of weird seeing them up close like this.

[both the fact it is alive and the fact she is seeing the crab in person. if the crab in question happens to visibly have a stolen item on it, she can be seen trying to coax it into dropping whatever it is holding. it may not be her best idea but clearly she didn't think this through. someone may want to warn her to back up and not provoke the crab] Come on— hand it over, what use do you even have for something like that, huh?

b. alternatively, a bit later in the morning, octavia can be found holding an assortment of stolen items, trying to find whoever any of this happens to belong to as she is wandering around] Hey! Is this yours? Do you recognize any of this stuff?
